Ammonium bicarbonate solution (37,850 mg/L) for precise application of ammonium in recirculating aquatic ecosystems. Provides nitrogen in a form that is more readily accessible to primary producers, inckuding zooxanthellae, than is the nitrogen derived from nitrite and nitrate. Chloride-free. USP-grade, ≥99% purity. Material origin: Europe.

General Dosing Reference: Per 0.01 mg/L ammonium desired, add 1 drop Ammon8 per 50 gallons net system volume; this is equivalent to 4 drops per gallon to achieve 2 mg/L ammonium.

Application of this material requires that user understands the role of ammonium in established aquatic ecosystems and will apply it per the requirements and limitations in the individual system of interest.

WARNING: Read instructions in entirety prior to use. Not for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children and unauthorized persons. Ammonium bicarbonate and its solutions are eye and membrane irritants. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Avoid inhalation of dust. Do not handle these substances without proper personal protective equipment. These substances must be stored securely and in accordance with applicable state and local regulations. Keep container tightly-sealed, as this material is hygroscopic and will absorb atmospheric moisture. Your system's water chemistry and the safety of system inhabitants are your responsibility. Address any questions by contacting Captiv8 Aquaculture, directly, prior to application. Do not: Permit contamination of this container with moisture or foreign material; dispense unmixed product into established aquatic ecosystems; mix with raw tap water or system water; mix with solutions containing Mg, Ca, or Sr, as precipitation will occur; apply in close proximity to sessile invertebrates or developing finfish embryos.

Storage: Not for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children and unauthorized persons. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and respiratory tract. Metered Application (established systems): Calculate volume of Ammon8 required to achieve and/or maintain desired [NH4+] for a specified time frame, and dilute this into a larger volume of purified water; dose the dilute solution while primary producers are under adequate illumination to facilitate photosynthesis, adjusting the dosing rate such that the entirety of the solution is dosed over the entire course of the initial time frame (not sooner). STRONGLY RECOMMENDED IS TO RAISE AMMONIUM CONCENTRATION IN ESTABLISHED SYSTEMS AT A RATE NOT EXCEEDING 0.01 mg/L PER 24 HOURS. Users may find that continuous dosing of the dilute solution does not yield a detectable [NH4+] for several days; despite this, it’s recommended to continue at the initial dosage for a period of at least 30 days prior to increasing the dosage (if necessary or desired). If dosing results in signs of irritation within the cohort, then discontinue dosing immediately and either filter the system with Extric8 Z; apply Elimin8 DIN, Inocul8, or Remedi8; or permit [NH4+] to naturally fall to undetectable level prior to resuming dosing with a dosing rate of 50% the initial rate.
